Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of the new season lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and presented the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the main group to begin their independent quest, separate from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a typically action-packed fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might seem out of place, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to proceed after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, striking Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the party reach places they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are sought by the rulers that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:
- Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The cleric defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by House Halovar.
This means them little choice but to travel to Timmony in search of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
According to episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group will be absent the following episode, leaving the rest of the players to round up the Seekers and Planners parties.
Viewers can anticipate learning which players will be where in the season’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on next week.
